Child labour... What is it actually?

In almost all over the world children are being denied of their right to a childhood and forced into work at a young age.

Childhood…the most innocent stage in a human life. It is that phase of life where a child is free from all the tensions, fun-loving, play and learns new things, and is the sweetheart of all the family members.
BUT this is only one side of the story. The other side is full of tensions and burdens. Here, the innocent child is not the sweetheart of the family members, instead he is an earning machine working the entire day in order to satisfy the needs and wants of his/her family. Practically ¾ of the population live in extreme poverty, often families have no alternative but to send their children to work in the markets and rubbish dumps. They work long hours, often in dangerous conditions where they are vulnerable to abuse and disease and denied an education.

This is what is called 'CHILD LABOUR'!!!

There are various causes and effects of child labour. Eliminating child labour is one of the biggest challenges that the whole world is facing.

  1. This is a really good blog! what do you think is the most important reason for the prevention of child labour, to relieve hazardous conditions and child deaths/accidents or to allow these children to have a greater level of education?

there is a very general argument against preventing child labour and that is that children have every RIGHT to work? however how many children in factories at the stroke of midnight want to be there I wonder?
